Bassmaster Elite Series Pro Clark Reehm inks deal with Evolve Fishing

EVOLVE Fishing LLC., manufacturer of cutting edge artificial lures, announces the addition of ELITE Series Angler Clark Reehm to their 2013 Pro Staff. Reehm will play the role of EVOLVE's key product ambassador within the tournament and professional angling community, serving an essential function for the small manufacturer.

Clark with a Rayburn Toad on Darkstar Swimmer
"We've known Clark going on a few years now, and he's always impressed us with his passion for the sport and talents as an angler," noted Derek Carr, EVOLVE Fishing's President. "We're excited to have Clark on board, he is an excellent representative of our young, aggressive brand, and his ability to put fish in the livewell using our product lines will certainly help move EVOLVE forward."

EVOLVE primarily manufactures quality soft plastics, and their VibraGRUB, DarkStar Swimmer, & MadMouse product lines are already common tools in tackle bags across the USA. "I met the guys from EVOLVE at the Classic in Shreveport last year when they were just getting going. Along with some super soft frogs, I saw they were reintroducing one of my favorite swimjig trailers that had been discontinued- their VibraGRUB. They gave me a few packages and we've been talking ever since," said Reehm.
Evolve Mad Mouse
iCAST 2012 saw several new product releases from EVOLVE. Reehm went on to comment, "At iCAST they hooked me up with some of their DarkStar Swimmers and their Mad Mouse. I played around with these baits a lot during the off-season, and can honestly say that they will be playing a role in 7 of the 11 Elite Series and Central Opens that I will be fishing this year. I look forward to working all of their baits, but that little buzzing rat just flat out catches them."

EVOLVE Fishing plans on working with Clark on color introductions and consumer awareness platforms through the 2013 season.

Beef up your Buzz Toad with the new Hack Attack Hook!

Most of you have noticed the growing popularity of buzz frogs and toads like the Zoom Horny Toad, Gambler Cane Toad, Sizmic Toad or many others. The reason is, they flat out catch fishm and big'uns! There are a couple drawbacks:
Frog rolling over
Sometimes poor hook ups
Enough weight for long casts

It looks like Tru-Tungsten & Greg "Hack Attack" Hackney have come up with a hook that solves all those issues - Buy this ProductTru-Tungsten Hack Attack Frog Hook
The Tru-Tungsten “Hack Attack” Frog Hook design helps provide extra casting distance while landing on its belly to prevent weeds from fouling the bait. It also keeps the bait keeled to prevent rolling or rocking of the frog. The unique double hook rigging prevents plastics from pulling down, resulting in fewer missed fish. Enjoy the benefits of more hook-ups and multiple fish without tearing each plastic frog!

You simply squeeze the hooks together, feed thru the nose of your bait. Once thru the nose, let the hooks open an insert those two giant gaffs into the back of the bait. Cast into your favorite grass bed and hold on ;)

The 'Buzz' on frogs & toads for Bass Fishing

In case some of you are not aware, there is a deadly creation out there called the Buzz Frog or Swimming Toad out there and bass are crushing them. Its basically a hybrid baits that takes the allure of a frog and a buzzbait and wraps it into a soft plastic package! From what I can tell, Zoom started it with their Horny Toad and now just about everyone has a spin on it. Check out a sampling below. They work in places regular frogs don't and the hook % is much higher with these ;)

Buy this ProductZoom Ultravibe Horny Toad - This is where it all started

Buy this ProductSizmic Toads - Sizmic made a splash shortly there after, they have some floating & chugging versions as well.

Buy this ProductGambler Cane Toad - This is my personal favorite & I think it has the best sound

Buy this ProductBerkley Gulp Bat Wing Frog - Not sure how important scent dispersion of Gulp! is for topwater...

Buy this ProductKicker Fish Xplodin' Toad - never used it, but looks like a solid design

Buy this ProductMann's HardNose Swim Toad - I have heard good things about the durability of this product, more fish per bait

Buy this ProductYum Buzz Frog - This is probably my second favorite one that I have used

Buy this ProductV&M Bayou Bull Frog

Buy this ProductWave Worms Tiki-Toad

Buy this ProductNetBait Paca Toad - Honestly, this one puzzles me, does not seem like it would create much of a disturbance, maybe for more subtle presentations, I think it would be a great jig trailer...

I think all these will put bass in your boat, I would be interested to hear which are your favorites or if you have comments on the models I have not tried yet. Either way, if you do not have any, you are missing out!
